Be surprised by the atmospheric Lindenmarkt, a lively weekly market that takes place on Amsterdam's historic Lindengracht canal. Every Saturday, this bustling market comes alive, luring a mix of locals and tourists. Here you will discover an abundance of fresh delicacies, colourful flowers and an array of other unique products.
The Lindengracht, once a canal but now filled in, is next to the famous Noordermarkt. On Saturdays, these two markets make a perfect duo to explore. As you browse the Lindengracht, enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere and admire the famous courtyards that make this place so special. Suykerhofje and Lindenhofje, once home to women who lived together, still reflect peace and togetherness amid the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, residents were always there for each other, caring for each other and offering support in difficult times. Remarkably, a deceased resident was even laid to rest in the downstairs neighbour's house, giving everyone a chance to say goodbye.
At the Linden Market, you will find not only a tasteful array of fresh produce and enchanting flowers, but also a tempting variety of clothes, jewellery and other fascinating wares. Treat yourself to a culinary treat from one of the food stalls or explore the local snack and meal stalls for a true taste sensation.
