Moco Museum

On Museumplein, with the Rijksmuseum seen on the left, is Villa Alsberg, home to the contemporary Moco Museum. A recent addition to the cultural landscape, this museum is particularly attracting the attention of the Instagram generation, which values visual experiences. In 2016, the Moco Museum acquired the Villa Alsberg, once a private residence and one of the first on Museum Square. The owners, Lionel and Kim Logchies, have deep experience in the art world, having their own modern art gallery in Amsterdam's Spiegelkwartier. Their personal network gives them access to exceptional works of art, including exclusive pieces from private collections. The Moco Museum, derived from a similar museum in Barcelona's El Born district, provides a platform for some of the world's most respected modern artists. Works by icons such as Andy Warhol, Banksy and Keith Haring adorn its walls. The museum aims to bridge the gap between young people and contemporary art.
