Steel Masters Bridge

Although at first glance the Staalmeestersbrug is not much different from other bridges in the city, it offers a special view of Amsterdam. Looking towards the Zuiderkerk from the bridge, you are treated to a beautiful panorama of the city. The view was so beloved that French artist Claude Monet made a painting of it in 1874. Moreover, the bridge was considered one of the most romantic places in Amsterdam, where many couples sealed their love by hanging a clasp on the bridge. A few years ago, the locks were unfortunately removed by the municipality, as the bridge was not made to support extra weight. So, feel free to take a nice photo or selfie, but leave your lock at home.
