The Dapperbuurt

The heart of the Dapper neighbourhood is the Dappermarkt, which has been around for over 100 years and was awarded as the best market in the Netherlands in both 2006 and 2007. With around 200 market stalls, the Dappermarkt offers a wide range of goods and products daily, from 09:00 to 17:00, except Sundays. This market is known for its diverse range of both food and non-food products. The Dapper neighbourhood, named after the bustling Dapperstraat that runs through it, is home to a variety of shops, restaurants and cafés. Located east of the city centre, the neighbourhood is easily accessible by public transport. Tourists and locals alike are attracted to the dynamic atmosphere of the Dapper neighbourhood and its proximity to several cultural attractions, such as the Tropenmuseum and Oosterpark.
