Museon

Welcome to Museon - One Planet, where nature, science, and culture come together in a captivating journey around our planet. The story began in 1904, when Frits van Paasschen founded the “Museum for Educational Purposes.” His goal was to inspire young people to pursue technical careers, as he felt schools lacked focus on industry and innovation. 

Though the museum started with an industrial focus, it soon broadened its scope. In 1985, the museum moved into a modern new building and adopted the name Museon — a blend of “museum” and “education.” 

Recently, Museon joined forces with Omniversum under the name One Planet. Together, they offer a dynamic, immersive exploration of the world around us. One Planet highlights the interconnection between nature, science, and culture. With interactive exhibits, fascinating objects, and engaging activities, you’re invited to explore how everything is connected. It also encourages reflection on sustainability and our shared global heritage. 

Even after the museum closes, the journey continues in the Dome. Here, you can enjoy awe-inspiring films about nature, science, and the complexity of our planet — an inspiring experience for all ages.
