The Musée Cernuschi, located in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, showcases a captivating collection of Asian art. Situated near Metro stations Villiers or Monceau, it is easy to access.

Originally built as Henri Cernuschi’s private home, it opened in 1898 after his death. Cernuschi traveled in the 1870s acquiring ceramics, porcelain, bronze vessels and Japanese lacquerware.

The Chinese collection spans pieces from the Neolithic period through the Ming and Qing dynasties. Japanese galleries display samurai armor, print art, and Zen-inspired works. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions on specific aspects of East Asian art, unveiling rarely seen objects and offering fresh perspectives.
