Passage Brady

Approaching Passage Brady, you encounter a vibrant meeting place in the 10th arrondissement that has endured through time. The arcade dates from 1828 and originally featured a central rotunda, which was removed in 1854 to make room for Boulevard Strasbourg.

This led to its current layout: part covered with glass, part open-air. In the late nineteenth century, it was not a luxury venue but housed second-hand clothing stores and public baths for the lower middle class. In the 1970s, Passage Brady was revitalized due to low rents; Indian and Pakistani traders settled there, giving rise to the “Little India” nickname.

Today, visitors find a lively atmosphere with shops, restaurants and spice-scented air, popular among locals and tourists seeking a South Asian vibe in Paris. It’s served by Château d’Eau metro station, open daily with no entrance fee. Strolling through at leisure lets you take in the exotic ambiance.
