Pont de Bir-Hakeim

Pont de Bir-Hakeim is an elegant bridge over the Seine linking the 15th and 16th districts. Built between 1903 and 1905, it has two levels: Metro line 6 runs above, while pedestrians, cyclists, and cars pass below. At its center stands the statue La France Renaissante and reliefs of goddesses representing science, labour, and commerce.

The name commemorates the Battle of Bir Hakeim in Libya in 1942, where the Free French Forces held off German troops. So it’s not only a beautiful bridge but also a place of historical meaning. By day, the bridge already offers a special view, but at night it becomes truly magical.

The lighting along the metal pillars and the Seine, combined with the sparkling Eiffel Tower, create one of the most stunning evening scenes in Paris. No wonder it’s a favorite spot for photographers and film crews.
