City pigeons

The war memorial at the beginning of Westersingel is an attractive spot for city pigeons. There is often more food to be found in the city centre than in the suburbs. Here, they are close to a chip shop and can look forward to bread and other leftovers that people drop or deliberately scatter on their way to and from the station. Not every pigeon can just join the meal. The best spots are occupied by the strongest pigeons, and they have to fight for the tastiest morsels.
