Hotel New York, located on Rotterdam’s Wilhelminapier, is an iconic building steeped in history. Once the headquarters of the Holland-America Line, it was transformed into a hotel in 1993—becoming the first business to settle on the then-undeveloped Kop van Zuid.

Initially quite isolated, the hotel became more accessible in 1996 with the opening of the Erasmus Bridge. Since then, Hotel New York has become a vibrant hub where history and modern life meet.

The location holds deep historical significance. In the 17th century, the Pilgrim Fathers departed from this quay—English Puritans who fled to the Netherlands and then set sail for America in search of religious freedom.
