Mill The Distillery

--:--
--:--
Standing forty-two metres tall, De Distilleerketel was built in 1727 to grind malt for gin, burned in 1899, rose again, but was lost once more in 1940. Fund-raisers produced a working mill by 1941, grinding commercially until 1950. A 1986 restoration revived it; since 2018 the mill turns each Saturday. A coffee bar and regional-product shop occupy the grain loft, and roughly twenty-thousand visitors a year climb the steep stairs for views of the Maas, the Euromast and shipyards.
