FC Utrecht

FC Utrecht, founded on 1 July 1970, is a merger of three Utrecht clubs: DOS, Elinkwijk and Velox. This union of forces led to the emergence of a club that plays a central role in Utrecht's sports culture. With a passionate fan base, FC Utrecht has become one of the most respected clubs in Dutch football.

Throughout its history, the club has won several prestigious awards. FC Utrecht captured the KNVB Beker in 1985, 2003 and 2004, and the Johan Cruijff Schaal in 2004. Although the club has never become champion of the Eredivisie, it has often managed to achieve a strong position in the league.

A special and touching memory is linked to jersey number 4. This number is no longer used at FC Utrecht in memory of David Di Tommaso, a defender who died suddenly in his sleep while playing at the club in 2005.
