Stepping here, you are stepping inside one of the world's most extraordinary spaces where stone becomes a living forest bathed in rainbow light. In the heart of the Eixample district stands the interior of the Sagrada Família, a basilica that transforms architecture into nature. Antoni Gaudí spent over 40 years designing this sacred space to mirror a forest, where 36 massive columns rise like tree trunks and branch toward the heavens.

Each column uses different stone based on the weight it carries. The four central pillars are made from red porphyry, one of Earth's hardest volcanic rocks, chosen to support the immense weight of the tallest tower dedicated to Jesus Christ. The magic unfolds through the stained glass windows. Eastern windows glow with cool blues and greens, filling the morning with light that symbolizes Christ's birth.

Western windows burn with warm oranges and reds, representing sunset and resurrection. Throughout the day, sunlight pours through these windows, painting the white columns and vaulted ceilings in constantly shifting colors. Gaudí took over the project in 1883 and devoted his entire life to it until his death in 1926.

He called it his forest of faith. The interior was completed in 2010, more than 80 years after his death, finally revealing his vision of a space where light, color, and stone merge into something beyond ordinary architecture.
