In the middle of the park stands a baroque palace that has served since 1948 as the boarding school of the , the boys' choir whose roots reach back to a court chapel from the fifteenth century.
Next door sits a company even older in its craft. The was founded in 1718, the second in Europe after , and still works by hand right here. The cup you hold in a Viennese coffee house sometimes comes, quite literally, from this building.
For about fifteen years now there has also been a concert hall, built for the choir and open to the public, with a name that nods to the German word for courage.
So on this side the park has everything Vienna loves to show of itself: music, craftsmanship and a garden to stroll through.
Three hundred metres further on stands something that cuts right against all of that.
