About this walk
This short walk of nearly two kilometres follows the story of Romulus and Remus in the order it happened, along the places where the Romans themselves believed it unfolded. You begin on the flats where the basket washed ashore, climb to the hut the city kept repairing for a thousand years, stand by the furrow that cost Remus his life, and finish on the Capitoline beside the she-wolf.
The walk runs from the Forum Boarium to Piazza del Campidoglio. A ticket is needed for the original she-wolf in the Capitoline Museums at the end; everything else is out on the street.
