Coen Moulijn, born on February 15, 1937, was a legendary Dutch footballer. As a left winger, he became a symbol of Feyenoord and the Dutch national team during the 1950s to early 1970s. His dazzling runs and dribbles made him a fan favorite.

At 17, he made his debut with Xerxes. In 1955, Feyenoord signed him for 25,000 guilders—a significant sum at the time—outbidding city rival Sparta. In the early 1960s, FC Barcelona showed interest, but Moulijn stayed loyal to Rotterdam, a decision he later regretted.

His greatest triumphs came in 1970: Feyenoord won the European Cup by defeating Celtic, followed by the Intercontinental Cup against Estudiantes.

On January 1, 2011, Moulijn suffered a severe stroke and passed away three days later at age 73. A statue in his honor, created by Tom Waakop Reijers, now stands outside De Kuip. He had been knighted in the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1970. In his final years, he continued to watch Feyenoord matches from a skybox.

Moulijn remains a Rotterdam icon and one of the greatest players in Dutch football history.
